Romania

It has been a while since I wrote a post. Most of you know that my sister, Jo, passed away last week and I am devastated. Traveling with this sadness in my heart changes everything about this trip. So, I will try and continue sharing our adventures knowing that Jo is no longer traveling vicariously with us via the Internet, but she is in my heart always.

Miss you, JoJo. May you find the Light

Romania!

Crossing the Danube on our huge Green Machine brings us into Romania in the region of Transylvania.

Our fabulous driver, Constantine

First stop, the castle of Vlad, the Impaler. Yes, Dracula.

Vlad and my Husband

Hopefully there was no body in this coffin.

This was a weird display about faeries.

Transgargarasan Highway

The bus made an unscheduled turn onto one of the most spectacular routes I have ever seen. The communist leader built this highway in 1970-74 to provide quick access across the Carpathian mountains in case the Soviet Union attacked.

The switchbacks were neverending
Lake at the top
There is a black goat here somewhere
This gorgeous bear was on the side of the road

There was a gathering of Ferarris halfway up the mountain. They all had the steering wheel on the wrong side
